Concept
アジア太平洋地域を代表するラグジュアリーホテルであるシャングリ・ラ ホテルズ＆リゾーツが、日本初進出のホテルとして、2009年にオープンした「シャングリ・ラ ホテル 東京」様。東京駅に隣接する、丸の内トラストタワー本館にある5つ星ホテルです。
そのホテル入口の1Fホールに、美術組子を納めさせていただきました。
「シャングリラ（＝桃源郷）」をテーマに、中国山東省の泰山をモチーフにしました。泰山のゴツゴツとした岩山の表情や、霧がかった幻想的な風景を表現するため、文様の組み合わせに工夫を凝らしました。
ここは、東京駅日本橋口から徒歩1分(八重洲北口から徒歩2分の)場所にあり、ホテルメイドのスイーツなど、上質なホテルギフトも販売されています。お気軽にお立ち寄りくださいませ。
Shangri-La Hotel Tokyo has opened in 2009 as the first hotel in Japan for Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. This 5-star luxury hotel is located in the main building of Marunouchi Trust Tower, just 1 minute away by walk from Tokyo Station.
Our Art Kumiko has installed on the 1st floor entrance hall of the hotel. Its design concept is an utopia ‘Shangli-La’, and specifically inspired by Mt. Tai in Shandong province, China. We believe its mysterious look, craggy mountain surfaces and covering fog, was perfectly depicted by assembling several different kinds of patterns.
