Concept
昭和六年創業の老舗料亭 つきじ治作様。
東京隅田川沿いにおよそ800坪もの敷地の中にある建物は、三菱財閥の岩崎家の別邸として使用されていたもので、都会の真ん中にあるにも関わらず静寂で贅沢な空間となっています。
敷地の中央には大きな池があり、150匹ほどの錦鯉が優雅に泳ぎ、全ての客室から眺めることができます。
組子細工は、隅田川から名付けられた「隅田の間」の廊下に設置され、隅田川からの風や水の流れが池につながっていくようなイメージとして「水影」をお選びいただきました。
「水」は濁らず常に清らかであること、苦難や災厄を流し去ることから緑起の良い意匠として使用されています。

The building, which sits on a site of approximately 2,600m² along the Sumida River, was originally purchased as a villa by the Iwasaki family of the Mitsubishi Group. Despite being in the middle of the city, it is a tranquil and luxurious space.
In the center of the site is a large pond, viewable from all guest rooms, with about 150 colored carp swimming gracefully.
Installed in the corridor of the “Sumida Room,” named after the Sumida River, “Reflection Trace” was chosen depicting the wind and water flowing from the Sumida River to the pond.
Water is always pure and unclouded and used as a design element that brings out greenery as it washes away hardships and disasters.
